Amber Ford is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of clinical experience focused on adults and older adults. Her clinical expertise centers around coping with chronic or life-limiting illness (including cancer), grief and loss, and the challenges of caregiving. She completed a Certified Grief Educator training program designed by world-renowned grief expert, David Kessler, and has extensive training in grief, loss, and bereavement. She incorporates education related to sleep hygiene, stress management, and preventative strategies and resources into therapy treatment. With a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and an Education Specialist Degree in Family Counseling, Louis is especially suited to incorporate clients’ familial and cultural backgrounds to uncover negative internalized beliefs that are holding back clients from living their best lives now.
Louis is especially passionate about helping clients who have experienced Adverse Childhood Events and suffer with Complex PTSD. As an EMDR Trained clinician and Certified DBT therapist, Louis is able to help clients cope with and stabilize the intense emotions and reactions that accompany trauma while preparing clients to process and release traumatic past events.
