Sharlynn is a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 28 years of experience in healthcare. She understands the frustration and challenges that come with receiving multiple diagnoses without finding the right treatment. Mental health is often misunderstood and undervalued, yet it is just as essential as physical health. Sharlynn is committed to ensuring her patients receive accurate diagnoses and the appropriate treatment to help them achieve a fulfilling and balanced life.
With a holistic approach, Sharlynn integrates both physical and mental health when assessing and treating patients. She is passionate about helping individuals understand their diagnoses, why they feel the way they do, and what treatment options are available to improve their well-being. She works with patients of all ages and a wide range of mental health conditions, with a particular interest in children and adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, behavioral concerns, and other challenges.
One of Sharlynn’s specialties is diagnosing and treating bipolar disorder, including both Bipolar I and the often-overlooked Bipolar II depression. She recognizes that bipolar depression is frequently misdiagnosed as unipolar depression, leading to ineffective treatments. Her expertise ensures that patients receive the most accurate and effective care tailored to their specific needs.
Sharlynn’s extensive background in healthcare includes working as a registered nurse in trauma, community health, and school nursing, among other specialties. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner, along with certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. For the past eight years, she has dedicated her career to the field of mental health, helping patients navigate their journeys toward healing and stability.
With a deep commitment to patient care and advocacy, Sharlynn strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves, ensuring that each individual receives the comprehensive and compassionate care they deserve.
